  • 🖼️ The Queenstown Art Show – Queenstown Events Centre

    Queenstown’s biggest art showcase returns to Queenstown with 100+ artists and thousands of works. Kick off with the VIP Preview Fri 17 Oct, 5pm – 7:30pm ($95), glide into Opening Night Fri 17 Oct, 7:30pm – 10:30pm ($38), then browse show days Sat 18 Oct, 10am – 8pm and Sun 19 Oct, 10am – 5pm (from $10, under-16s free).   • 😂 Laughter is the Best Medicine – Kinross Winery, Gibbston

    On Saturday 18 October five of Aotearoa’s sharpest comedians — Jeremy Corbett, Michèle A’Court, Jon Bridges, Emma Lange and MC David Downs — take over Kinross to raise funds for the Malaghan Institute. Feast in the bistro from 5pm for $49, then settle in for side‑splitting stories at 7:30pm ($75 tickets, VIP packages available).

  • 📚 Nadia Lim’s Farm Kitchen Book Launch – Eichardt’s Private Hotel

    Join beloved chef and author Nadia Lim for an intimate launch evening celebrating Nadia’s Farm Kitchen on Sunday 19 October, 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Expect a cosy Q&A, signings and a special night on the lakefront. Tickets: General $39.18 and VIP $90.42 (VIP includes nibbles, a drink on arrival and a goodie bag).   • 🎨 Community Craft: Creating with Old Postage Stamps - Te Atamira

    Transform vintage postage stamps into wearable art in this drop‑in workshop with local artist Martin Bell. All materials are supplied, and you’ll learn to make pendants, brooches and miniature artworks. The session runs 9am – 10am on Tuesday 21 October, and it’s totally free. Bring a friend or come solo, creativity blossoms when everyone shares ideas.

    Celebrate Biketober with a relaxed Friday night of bikes, BBQ and good chats at the Lightfoot OneBike Hub in Remarkables Park. Explore the tool library, repair workshops and rescued rides, and connect with locals passionate about sustainability on Friday 17 October, 6pm – 8:30pm. Tickets $11.50.   • 🌱 Love Queenstown Industry Planting Day – Jardine Park

    Roll up your sleeves for a feel-good volunteer day supporting local regeneration with the Whakatipu Reforestation Trust. Choose a morning or afternoon session on Thursday 16 October, 9am – 12pm or 12:30pm – 3:30pm and help get 2,000 native seedlings in the ground at Jardine Park. Free, with a BBQ lunch thanks to Skyline.

Wānaka's Luca Harrington was named the overall Athlete of the Year, while Queenstown's own Alice Robinson was crowned Alpine Ski Racer of the Year after a phenomenal season. It's fantastic to see our local talent being recognised on the national stage.

  • 🚶‍♀️ New Sylvan Bridge Reconnects Routeburn Track

    A brand new 42m suspension bridge now spans the Routeburn River at Lake Sylvan, replacing the previous structure lost to storm damage. Raised 11m above the river, the bridge reconnects the popular Lake Sylvan Track and includes 1.5km of upgraded trail Locals are celebrating the safe, resilient access ahead of summer tramping season.
